Dr. Brooke Barr, DNP, APRN, Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, was born and raised in rural Canton, TX. She moved to Dallas in 2014 and married her high school sweetheart, Garrett. They share a son named Paxton James and a Boxer dog named Rosie. She has a love for traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Barr started her studies at Dallas Baptist University, later transferring to Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Her passion grew in the neonatal intensive care unit to continue her education to help serve the pediatric population in a different facet. She received her dual Master and Doctoral degrees from the Medical University of South Carolina and is certified by the nationally accredited Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. It was during her higher education that she felt called to serve as a professor to nursing students. Baylor LHSON served Brooke well in her BSN studies and the aim to teach all nursing students to Learn, Lead, and Serve resonated with her as she chose to come back and serve the students at Baylor University with this purpose in sight. She desires for her students to express empathy with their patients, to serve as Jesus did, and to be the light of Christ in all that is done as medical professionals.
