My name is Christina Evans. I am in the DNP Pediatric Primary Care track at Baylor University.

Things that drew me to Baylor's online DNP degree were the convenience of being able to do my schoolwork in a timely manner that fit my work schedule and my needs, as well as the ability of Baylor to look for preceptors for clinicals.

Some experiences that affected my decision to become a DNP-prepared nurse was the amount of time I would have to spend in school to get a terminal degree. I had to make a decision between a master's and a doctorate, and I figured if I'm going to go back to grad school, why not go all the way and get my doctorate?

My goal and what I hope to achieve with my DNP is to be able to help my community in a greater capacity. I can influence policy, research, and also help make life easier for my patients. I'd like to follow them through their growth and development to hopefully care for their complex needs.

My overall experience as an online DNP program student has been excellent. My teachers are always accessible; my classmates are wonderful. We often take time to talk to each other, to help each other study, and I feel that it has been the most useful way for an adult learner like me to get my schoolwork done and to process what I'm learning while also being able to handle my life responsibilities.

The quality of Baylor's Doctorate of Nurse Practice program has exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend anybody to apply to Baylor's Doctorate of Nurse Practice program.

I believe the benefit of having a DNP education would allow me to have more say. It would show that I went the extra mile to get a doctorate to influence healthcare and nursing at a higher level.

The impact I would like to make on my patients and surrounding community would be one of service. I want to be able to serve them to meet their needs, to fill in the gaps that may be there in communities that don't have a provider, while also presenting my knowledge that I acquired in the Doctorate Nurse Practice program at Baylor.

I believe getting my DNP online now is the best thing that I could have done. I believe that it is important to get it now before really they make it mandatory for everyone.
