What drew you to Baylor’s online DNP degree?
I was drawn to Baylor's online DNP program for a few reasons. It was paramount for me to find a program that I believed would offer a comprehensive and robust curriculum to give me the tools for a successful future.
Initially, I liked that the trimester schedule was a full 15 weeks. I had previously started an NP program and realized that the accelerated, single class schedule didn't give me enough time to really absorb the information I was learning. Also, when I looked at the PMHNP degree plan I saw additional classes focused on psych that I didn't necessarily see in other programs, which was exciting to me. I learned that Baylor incorporates an abundant number of clinical hours throughout its program, and partners with its students in finding and securing preceptors.
I truly appreciated my first and all the following phone calls with Shawna, my admissions advisor, who gave me an abundance of information about the program and continuously supported me with information and discussion throughout the application process. I never felt left hanging, and I never felt unheard. She was my first example of how being a student at Baylor University might feel, and it was an accurate interpretation. I feel like Baylor does a great job bringing online learning to real life by incorporating supportive structures such as student coaches. The way the program and courses are structured just shows how much care has been put into the online DNP program at Baylor University.
