About:
Dr. Meagan Soltwisch serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing. Previous to joining Baylor she worked as Adjunct faculty for BSN and MSN at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas. Her background also includes working as a Tele-medicine FNP-C provider at Advanced Correctional Healthcare in Peoria, Illinois; DNP, Family Nurse Practitioner at Pulse-MD Urgent Care in Mahopac, New York; Family Nurse Practitioner at Omni Medical Care in Poughkeepsie, New York and an FNP at Medcare Urgent Care in Columbus, Georgia. Her received a DNP and MSN from Gonzaga University and a BSN from Washington State University.

Dr. Soltwisch is a certified family nurse practitioner who specializes in urgent care and correctional healthcare. The research she has focused on has been the overuse of antibiotics within the urgent care clinic. She has been published in Consultant360 (Soltwisch, M., & Beckham, N. (2016). Reducing the Inappropriate Prescribing of Antibiotics for Rhinosinusitis. Consultant 360, 56(2), 127-132.).  As a FNP-C, her priority and focus is on education and prevention while treating and diagnosing patients. By applying evidence-based practice and current research, she is well equipped to educate patients and their families about their disease processes, expected outcomes, and healthy behaviors. Teaching and role-modeling evidence-based practice to BSN, MSN, and DNP students has allowed her to share her passion for improving patient outcomes across a broad spectrum and to encourage future nurses in healthcare.

Awards and Organizations:
Professional awards and activities include being a peer reviewer for Consultant360 journal, award recipient of the Saint Joan D’Arc Medallion Award recipient (US Army outstanding volunteer), Dr. Mary Walker Medal of Honor Army service award, and leader of Family Readiness Group responsible for fundraising for deployed troops. Memberships include, Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society, Rho Lambda Honor Society, outstanding student award at Washington State University 2006, and distinguished DNP student at Gonzaga University.
