Biography:
Dr. Galvez is a Graduate Nursing Faculty. Prior to nursing, she was a Biologist for five years in animal pharmaceuticals. Dr. Galvez has been in higher academia for over 5 years. A Doctor of Nurse Practice and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, she provides inclusive, cross-cultural healthcare locally & globally to better health outcomes for all persons, no matter where one may live.
Dr. Galvez is actively engaged in various organizations at the local, state, and national level in advocacy and policy. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Phi Kappa Phi, International Association of Latino Faculty, Texas Nurse Practitioners, Society of Urological Nursing Association, Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Texas DNP Association, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Public Health Association, Texas Nurses Association, Texas Public Health Association, Fort Worth Region Nurse Practitioners.
Research Interests:
Dr. Galvez scholarship focuses on health disparities regarding unmet healthcare needs of Hispanic/Latino men; women’s health; caring for the caregiver; vaccine hesitancy.
Community:
Dr. Galvez is an active volunteer in her church, community, and animal causes. She is an advocate/ally Safe Zone certified educator and serves in organizations centered on health equity and inclusion.
