Work and Education:
Dr. Fulgham has been practicing as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner since 2018. She completed a Postgraduate Critical Care APP Fellowship in 2019 and actively practices in the Medical ICU at the University of Kentucky. She began her teaching career in Fayetteville in 2014 as a clinical instructor and became full-time faculty at the University of Arkansas in 2021. She joined Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing as adjunct faculty in the summer of 2023 and started full-time in the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program in the Fall of 2023. She has also earned certifications in ACUE Micro-credentials Promoting Active Learning Online and Designing Learner-Centered and Equitable Courses.
Committees:
Dr. Fulgham is active in committees within her organizations. She currently serves on the Resuscitation Committee, MICU Advanced Education Committee as well as the APP Advanced Education Committee. In her previous role, she was a member of the Faculty Affairs Committee. She is a member of SCCM, NONPF and AANP.
Articles and Presentations:
Outside the classroom, Dr. Fulgham is actively researching role transition among new nurse practitioners. She is also interested in further education for nurse practitioners and is involved in committees to help provide additional resources. She is active in the Society of Critical Care Medicine and in 2023 she presented a Case Report at the SCCM conference which was later published.
Community:
Dr. Fulgham enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She is active in her children’s school and daycare as a homeroom mom, PTO member, and general volunteer. She is also in the process of starting the Kentucky Chapter of SCCM which will bring more opportunities regarding critical care to her community.
