Work and Education:
Dr. Butler has facilitated the learning of future nursing students for over 14 years. The past year, she had the honor of joining the team at the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing. She teaches Intro to Nursing on the Waco campus and is the lead faculty for Childbearing Familiesin the Distant Accelerated BSN program. Dr. Butler serves in other clinical areas and lab instruction, she also is the faculty lead for the Honor Program for the School of Nursing. Dr. Butler has a passion for improving resiliency in future nurses and current research focuses on improving communication for novice nurses.

Committees:
Dr. Butler is currently serving on the Mission Committee for the School of Nursing and the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee. She is also serving on the Baylor in McAllen task force and is a current member of the Baylor Round Table.

Articles and Presentations:
Outside the classroom, Dr. Butler delivered a presentation “Interprofessional Caring: Lessons Learned” for the Caring in Healthcare: A Global Perspective Conference. She also contributes to a poster presentation on “TILTing Nursing Assignments for Success” to the Wisconsin League for Nurses Spring 2023 Conference. Moreover, she is a member Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses, the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Texas Nurse Association, and the American Nurses Association.

Community:
Dr. Butler and her husband, Doug, co-founded a national non-profit called, Inspiring Orphan Care, which strives to live out James 1:27. Their mission is to inspire people to help the orphan crisis as Christ has called us to do, either by adoption or by support. Their non-profit awards adoption scholarships to families who have been called to adopt as well as helping more children have a forever family like their Anna Cheri. Dr. Butler also serves in her local church mentoring new moms and supporting adoptive families.
