Work and Education:
Dr. Emily Sundeen is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing. Dr. Sundeen also practices part-time as a Family Nurse Practitioner in primary care. Her previous professional background includes quality improvement, care coordination, and outpatient services in the hospital setting. Dr. Sundeen completed the Dallas Fort Worth Hospital Association Executive Fellowship in 2018 – 2019. Dr. Sundeen’s research and practice areas include chronic care management, health promotion, the medically underserved population and rural health.

Committees:
Dr. Sundeen has served on various professional committees as both a practitioner, and educator. She currently serves as a member of Graduate Studies and the Faculty Affairs Committee for the Louise Herrington School of Nursing.

Articles and Presentations:
Outside the classroom, Dr. Sundeen contributes to both nursing knowledge and nursing associations. In 2020, Dr. Sundeen published a quality improvement project, “Leveraging the Annual Wellness Visit to Improve Rural Depression Management” in the Online Journal of Rural Nursing and HealthCare. In 2019, she delivered a podium presentation, “Practice Transformation: Leveraging the Annual Wellness Visit to Improve Rural Depression Management” for a national Accountable Care Organization. She has also presented on reducing hospital readmissions and improving care transitions at the Northeast Texas Regional Healthcare Partnership Conference. Dr. Sundeen is a member of the American Nurses Association and Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology

Community
Dr. Sundeen is active in her community in Greenville, Texas with her husband and two children. The Sundeen Family are members at Family Fellowship of Greenville.
