Work and Education:
Professor Franklin Lewis is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing, where she has been teaching since 2020. Her expertise lies in pediatric nursing, with a background encompassing trauma, surgery, acute care and adolescent medicine. She also has experience working as a family nurse practitioner in the primary care and emergency room setting.

Committees:
Professor Franklin Lewis is currently serving on the Faculty Affairs committee and the Research and Scholarship committee. She also serves as the Counselor for the Eta Gamma chapter of Sigma.

Articles and Presentations:
Outside the classroom, Professor Franklin Lewis is actively pursuing a doctoral degree at the University of Colorado with an expected graduation date of May 2025. Her research centers on providing authentic care for socially stigmatized and marginalized populations, with a research lens guided by Unitary Caring Science. Recent presentations at conferences hosted by the Western Institute of Nursing and the International Association for Human Caring include posters titled ‘Stigma attached to individuals who sexually abuse children: a concept analysis’ (2023) and ‘A review of nurse’s experiences in caring for children whose families are suspected of child abuse’ (2023).

Community:
Finally, Brady is involved in her local community by serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and serving in her local church. She is an active member of the International Association for Human Caring, The Society of Rogerian Scholars, and the Texas Nurses Association.
